Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about EloShowdown, the community-driven ranking system for Riftbound.

General

What is EloShowdown?
EloShowdown is a fan-made ranking and statistics platform for the Riftbound trading card game. We track tournament results from local game stores around the world and use them to calculate ELO ratings, rank players within their communities, and award achievements. We are not affiliated with UVS Games or Riot Games.
Where does the data come from?
All tournament and match data comes from publicly available results on the official Riftbound organized play platform. We do not collect any private account data — only publicly visible player names, match outcomes, and tournament results.
How often is data updated?
Data is updated daily. New tournaments and match results are fetched and processed every day, including ELO recalculation, rank updates, and achievements.
What tournament types are tracked?
We currently track Constructed format tournaments, including regular weekly events and Skirmishes. Draft and other limited formats are not tracked at this time.

ELO & Rankings

How does the ELO system work?
Every player starts at 1000 ELO. After each match, points are transferred from the loser to the winner. The amount depends on the skill gap between players:
  • Beat a stronger player → you gain more ELO
  • Lose to a weaker player → you lose more ELO
We use a K-factor of 40, which means each match can swing your rating by up to 40 points. Draws split the expected difference.
What are the rank tiers?
Rank tiers are assigned within your community based on your ELO position relative to other players. You need at least 2 matches in the current season to be ranked. The tiers are:
  • Challenger — #1 in your community
  • Grandmaster — Top 2–4
  • Master — Top 5–8
  • Diamond — Top 15%
  • Emerald — Top 30%
  • Platinum — Top 50%
  • Gold — Top 70%
  • Silver — Top 85%
  • Bronze — Top 95%
  • Iron — Bottom 5%
Why don't I have a rank yet?
You need at least 2 matches in the current season to receive a ranked tier. If you've played but don't see yourself, your store may not be tracked yet — reach out to us and we'll add it.
What is Arena?
Arena is a cross-community leaderboard that ranks the top players from all communities worldwide. To qualify for Arena, you need to have played at stores in 2 or more different communities. Arena has its own separate ELO, calculated only from matches that involve qualifying Arena players.

Seasons

How do seasons work?
Seasons align with Riftbound set releases. At the start of a new season, all ELO ratings reset to 1000 and rank tiers are recalculated from scratch. Your previous season's rank is preserved as a wing badge on your player profile. You can view past season stats using the season dropdown on any page.
What is the current season?
The current season is Season 2 – Spiritforge, which started on February 13, 2026. You can always switch between seasons using the dropdown on community and player pages.

Communities & Stores

Why are rankings split into communities?
Rankings are community-based because Riftbound is a game you play at your local store, against people you actually know. It wouldn't make much sense to compare yourself against someone playing on the other side of the world. Communities keep things familiar — you can see how you stack up against the players you actually sit across the table from every week. And if you're curious how you compare on a bigger scale, you can always check the national and global rankings too.
How is my community determined?
Your community is automatically assigned based on the store where you've played the most matches. If you play at stores in multiple communities, you'll belong to whichever one you frequent the most. You are ranked within that community's leaderboard.
My store isn't on EloShowdown. Can you add it?
Yes! We're always adding new stores. Send us an email at eloquest.ink@gmail.com or reach us on X @eloshowdown with:
  • The UVS Store link for your store (from the Riftbound event locator)
  • A community name it should go under — this can be a city, region, or an existing community you'd like to join
I played a tournament but it's not showing up. Why?
A few possible reasons:
  • Your store may not be tracked yet — contact us to add it
  • The tournament might be a non-Constructed format (Draft, etc.), which we don't currently track
  • There may have been a delay — data updates daily, so it should appear within 24 hours

Player Profiles

How do I find my profile?
Use the search bar on the home page or on any community leaderboard. Type your player name and select yourself from the results. You can also browse your community's leaderboard and click your name.
What stats are available on my profile?
Your player profile includes:
  • ELO rating with peak and lowest values
  • ELO chart showing your rating over time
  • Win/Loss/Draw record and win rate
  • Recent form — your last 10 match results
  • Match history — every match with opponent, result, and ELO change
  • Tournament results with final placements
  • Head-to-head records against your most frequent opponents
  • Nemesis & Punching Bag — your worst and best matchups
  • Rank history — promotions and demotions over time
  • Achievements earned
What are achievements?
Achievements are milestones you can earn by playing. They are grouped into categories and have rarity levels based on how many players have earned them. Visit the Achievements page to see all available achievements and how rare each one is.

Skirmishes

What is a Skirmish?
Skirmishes are larger, competitive Riftbound tournaments — official events that typically have more rounds and higher attendance than regular weekly play. They're marked with a special badge on tournament listings.
Do Skirmishes affect ELO differently?
No — ELO is calculated the same way for all Constructed matches, whether they're from weekly events or Skirmishes. Every match counts equally.

Privacy & Data

Can I have my data removed?
Yes. If you'd like your player data removed from EloShowdown, please contact us at eloquest.ink@gmail.com. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Do you collect personal information?
We only use publicly available tournament results — player names, match outcomes, and event details. We do not collect account passwords, email addresses, or any other private data. See our Privacy Policy for more details.
