Store leagues are here!

Store leagues are ready to roll out more widely! The feature is still in beta, so expect a few rough edges — if you run into anything broken, weird, or missing, please send feedback. Bug reports and feature ideas are extremely welcome at this stage.

If you run a Riftbound league at your store — weekly league tournaments, monthly seasons, anything with cumulative standings across multiple tournaments — EloShowdown can host the public standings page so you don't have to maintain a spreadsheet on the side.

  • Public standings pages. Each league has a permanent URL with the season standings, league days played, and a description / rules card. Standings update automatically as you run the tournaments through UVS — no manual data entry. Browse the directory at Communities → your community → Leagues.
  • Flexible scoring. Set your own points per win/draw/loss, plus optional bonuses for X-0 finishes, individual games won (Bo3), and byes. You can also count only the best N tournament results per player if your league drops scores. Tiebreakers are drag-and-drop reorderable.
  • Self-service admin portal. Sign in at /store-admin/login/ with a one-time magic link (no passwords) — once you're invited, you can create leagues, set scoring rules, pick which UVS events count toward each season, and download a polished Excel scoreboard with one click. You can also invite multiple teammates to manage the same store.
  • Customisation that meets your league. Custom league rules + description (rendered as Markdown), custom column labels, and optional public columns for rounds won and games won.
  • How to get in. If your store is already on EloShowdown, drop me a line at eloquest.ink@gmail.com with the email you'd like as the admin and I'll send the magic-link invite. If your store isn't listed yet, mention that in the email and I'll get it added.
  • Missing a feature? If your league uses a scoring rule, tiebreaker, or display option that isn't there yet, email me — chances are it's a small addition and I'm happy to build it in.

Huge thanks to the stores that helped beta-test the flow. Again — apologies in advance for any bugs you hit while we're still in beta, and please send the feedback in. The faster I hear about it, the faster it gets fixed!

Welcome to Season 3 — Unleashed

Season 3 starts today! Every player's ELO resets to 1000 for the new season. As of this moment, no one is on the leaderboard yet — the first two matches you play in S3 are what put you there.

  • Fresh start, same math. Same ELO formula as Season 2, same K-factors, same skirmish multiplier (x1.5).
  • Season 2 — Spiritforge is now closed and tagged as historical. Your full S2 record (peak, win rate, skirmish wins, achievements) stays visible on your player page forever.
  • Compare across seasons. The Season Comparison block on player pages now has a season selector — pick any prior season to stack against the one you're viewing. Handy for tracking how your S3 run is shaping up against your previous seasons self.

Good luck out there!

Tournament tracker notifications are live

The notifications feature I mentioned a couple of posts back is ready to use. Open a tournament tracker, pin the players you want to follow, and hit the bell chip to turn it on.

  • What you can be notified about. A pinned player finishes their match (with score), a new round's pairings are posted (with your table and opponent, if you mark which pinned player is you), or the round is fully complete. You can toggle each one on or off.
  • One tournament at a time. Notifications are tied to the tournament you're tracking. Open a different one and turn them on there, and the previous one is dropped automatically. They also turn off on their own once the tournament ends.
  • Devices. Works as a proper push notification on Android and desktop browsers, even with the tab closed. On iPhone/iPad you need to add the site to your Home Screen first (Apple's rule). If push isn't available you'll still get in-tab pop-ups while the tracker is open.

Let me know how it goes!

Migration complete — faster site now live

The hosting migration I mentioned yesterday is done. As of today the site is running fully on its new home — pages should load noticeably faster, especially the leaderboards and player pages!

  • What changed. Dedicated server, co-located database, off-site backups. The scheduled updates that used to occasionally hit timeouts now run reliably.
  • What's next. I will prioritize emails to make sure no player or event is missing! I will also focus on Season 3 prep, plus the in-progress features.

Thanks for your patience over the migration window!

Changelog is live + what's coming next

A quick update on a few things.

  • New changelog page. This area is where I'll post site updates, feature launches, and general news so it's easier to keep track of what's going on.
  • Emails. I've been on a work trip this past week which made it hard to reply to emails. I've read them all and have them in mind — I'll get back to everyone as soon as I can.
  • Hosting migration. Currently working on moving the site to a better, faster host. The goal is a smoother experience for everyone, lower running costs, and more headroom to ship new features (especially the kind that run quietly in the background, like scheduled updates and notifications).
  • Season 3. Getting things ready for the season 3 kick-off. It's taking a bit of time because I want everything set up properly, and I also want to time it well with the hosting migration.
  • New features in the works. A couple of things I'm building alongside everything else: tournament round notifiers (push alerts when your next round is up), and store leagues (currently in beta — I'll dedicate a more detailed post on this soon; in the meantime, let me know if your store is interested!).

Thanks for your patience!
